Receive Free Standard Shipping on your order of $75+ (per shipping address, online-only, no log-in required).

*Holiday Shipping: Good things take time! Douglas Sweets sees a wonderful and appreciated influx of orders during the holidays. This may cause a delay in shipments.

Special Care and Handling

Shipping

Now, don't worry. We are used to shipping our products to customers and stores. In our 10+ years of operation, we have had only a few reported cases of customers receiving damaged product. We always do our best to make sure your shortbread arrives to you in mouthwatering condition, every time! However, we feel like we should mention the following points: 

Shortbread containing chocolate (i. e. chocolate chip shortbread) doesn't like the heat and humidity. To ensure that your order arrives safely and ready to be enjoyed, we ask our customers to take the time to track their package and bring it inside as soon as it arrives. It will not enjoy sitting in a hot entranceway over a long period of time.

 

 

Warm Weather Shipping

April 29 - September 16

To ensure safe delivery, orders ship on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays if the shipping address is located in a warm-weather area. This prevents your chocolates from sitting on a truck over the weekend and melting.

Once the carrier (USPS, FedEx, UPS) picks up the package, it typically takes *2-3 business days to receive your order depending on location.

Northeast orders may take 1-2 days to arrive.

West Coast orders typically take 2-3 days.

An email notification with tracking information will be sent to you when your packages have shipped.

Due to the nature of our products, we generally do not ship to PO Boxes, APO, or FPO addresses. Douglas Sweets is not responsible for delayed, unclaimed, undelivered, or returned orders due to incorrect or undeliverable addresses or delays caused by UPS, USPS or FedEx due to weather or other causes that we are unable to control. Douglas Sweets does not guarantee orders will not melt during the warm weather season or in warm weather destinations.

Local pickups are always available at the bakery in Shelburne, VT during operation hours from Monday to Thursday.
