Shipping
We want to make sure your shortbread arrives to you in mouthwatering condition, every time.
Chocolate dipped shortbread doesn't like the heat and humidity. To ensure that your order arrives safely and ready to be enjoyed we ask our customers to take the time to track their package and bring it inside as soon as it arrives. It will not enjoy sitting in a hot entranceway.
Warm Weather Shipping
April 29 - September 16
To ensure safe delivery, orders ship on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays if the shipping address is located in a warm-weather area. To prevent your chocolates from sitting on a truck over the weekend and melting.
Orders are shipped via USPS, FedEx, UPS. Once the carrier picks up the package, it typically takes 2-3 business days to receive your order depending on location.
Northeast orders may take 1-2 days to arrive.
West Coast orders typically take 2-3 days.
An email notification with tracking information will be sent to you when your packages have shipped.
Due to the nature of our products, we generally do not ship to PO Boxes, APO, or FPO addresses. Douglas Sweets is not responsible for delayed, unclaimed, undelivered, or returned orders due to incorrect or undeliverable addresses or delays caused by UPS, USPS or FedEx due to weather or other causes that we are unable to control. Douglas Sweets does not guarantee orders will not melt during the warm weather season or in warm weather destinations. Even with the additional cooler packs offered while checking out, there is no guarantee that the dipped cookies will arrive without melting.
Local pickups are available at the bakery in Shelburne, VT.
Returns
If you are not satisfied with your order, you may return products in its original, unopened packaging for a refund, however, return shipping will be the responsibility of the customer. We cannot accept returns for packages that are already opened.
We take great care in packaging our products for shipment, but unfortunately, can't guarantee what happens to the packages once they leave our hands. If a package is damaged, please contact us within 48 hours of receiving your order and we will work with you to resolve the situation.
