Product Questions

What is the shelf life of Douglas Sweets products? 

All of Douglas Sweets shortbread products are made with the finest ingredients and do not contain any additives or preservatives. The shelf life for our cookies is six months.

How do I store Douglas Sweets products?

If you are not able to enjoy your delectable Douglas Sweets treats right away, they can be stored preferable in a tin container to be enjoyed later. We do not recommend storing in plastic container or bags. Shortbread is meant to be enjoyed dry so keep it air tight to maintain crispness! 

Where can I find nutritional information on the products?

Do Douglas Sweets products contain nuts? 

Yes, some of our products do contain nuts; when nuts are an ingredient it is indicated in the product description as well as in the ingredient statement. People with severe nut allergies should be aware that tree nuts and peanuts are present in our production facility. 

Do your Douglas Sweets products contain ingredients that have been genetically modified using biotechnology? 

We do not use ingredients produced using biotechnology. 

 

Shipping Questions

When will my gift ship after I place my order? 

All other orders will be shipped within 3-5 business days (Monday through Friday) after the order is received. We do not process or ship orders on Saturday or Sunday. 

 

How will my order be shipped and what are my shipping options? 

All orders are shipped via USPS Priority Mail or FedEx Ground, from our facility on Shelburne, VT.

 

Can I ship gifts to addresses outside the continental U.S. ?

We do not automatically ship to Hawaii and Alaska. However, please contact us directly if you would like to create a special order. Deliveries to those states will be charged the applicable shipping rate and a $45.00 surcharge.

Are your products available in retail stores?

Yes, our cookies are carried by many retail stores in the North East. For a list of stores in your area click on the Store Locator at the bottom of the page.

 

Do you ship products from your retail store?

We do! The bake shop is located at 22 Sage Court, Suite 2, Shelburne, VT. Please note the bakery is ONLY open when the ovens are running. Hours may vary.  For hours of operation or for questions on custom orders, you may call the bake shop directly at 802-448-3237.

 

Can I customize my order or substitute items? 

Yes, you can customize your sweet package to just the way you like it! Call the Bake Shop Team at 802-448-3237 to place your order. Unfortunately, given the volume of orders we process we are limited in our ability to accommodate substitutions in gift box orders. Always feel free to ask though!

 

Will you include a gift message with my order?

Yes, we will include a personalized gift message when requested. You will have the opportunity to write a gift message during the checkout process.

 

How do I find out about special promotions and coupons?

To receive electronic coupons and to be notified of special offers, simply subscribe to our email newsletter and keep an eye out on our social media updates. Note that offers and discounts apply to online sales only and may not be redeemed in our retail store unless otherwise noted.

 

Can I use more than one promotion code on an order?  

We provide many different incentives for our valued customers throughout the year and at times we may have more than one available to use. We do not allow customers to use more than one per purchase so it will be up to you to decide which one is "sweeter".
